First off, this is coming from a girl who has no desire to workout for fun… (Unless shopping and getting mani pedis count). This comes from experience ladies!
1) Crossfit is a cult. I’m sure you have all seen or heard of those crossfitters who live, breathe, and dream about squatting, doing muscle-ups, and throwing medicine balls against a wall. Their lives consist of these things… And ONLY these things. Working out to them is like religion to normal people. They will put it in front of everything. For example: Say you’re in a long-distance relationship and expecting your boyfriend to come home and see you over Valentine’s Day weekend. You have taken the time and effort to put together these romantic plans for him, and a day before he’s expected to leave he texts you saying “Sorry babe, I can’t come home this weekend. I have a really hard workout I’ve been wanting to do with some friends.” This is a red flag. He’d rather stay with his cult than come and spend time with you. GET OUT NOW.
2) “Gym Buddies”. Imagine all of those hot crossfit girls sweating all over him during a squat sesh.. You know he’s admiring their hot bods and their love for his passion. ARE YOU BOTHERED YET? Just remember that thought next time he says “I’ll call you after this quick workout,” and doesn’t call you for another 3 hours. It’s okay to be suspicious, especially when you’re being forced to imagine sweaty, hot girls all over your man.
3. Expectations. After getting back from the crossfit gym, your man walks in covered with his and other people’s (girls’) sweat. He looks at you and your “pathetic” (non-working out) body. You know exactly what he’s thinking: “Why can’t she be like the girls at the gym?” Ladies, we’ll be held to high expectations that we’ll never be able to meet. That’s how it’s always going to be. So, unless you decide to join the cult, you better find someone who appreciates you for you!
So, basically, if you meet a crossfitter, STAY AWAY. He’s trouble. Find yourself a real man!
